This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a HL7 Integration Engineer based in United States. This remote role focuses on designing, implementing, and testing healthcare interfaces that connect hospital IT environments with specialized clinical systems. You will work at the intersection of healthcare technology, interoperability, and software integration. The position involves collaborating directly with customers, healthcare IT teams, and external vendors to translate integration requirements into reliable solutions. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from short implementations to multi-month engagements. The role also offers opportunities to improve integration tools, processes, and service offerings. Success requires strong HL7 expertise, technical problem-solving skills, project coordination capabilities, and comfort working independently in a remote environment.
Design, configure, implement, and test HL7 interfaces supporting healthcare and clinical system integrations. Manage the integration of hospital IT systems with specialized healthcare products, ensuring reliable data exchange and interface performance. Collaborate directly with customers and IT vendors to define integration requirements, technical specifications, message formats, and interface functionality. Support multiple concurrent integration projects, managing assignments that may range from several weeks to multiple months. Develop and enhance interface tools, integration products, implementation processes, and service offerings. Apply structured process-improvement approaches, including Lean principles and integration monitoring tools, to continuously improve implementation quality and efficiency. Troubleshoot integration, networking, server, and interface-related issues and contribute to effective technical resolutions. Support project management activities, coordinate stakeholders, and maintain clear communication throughout implementation projects. Work effectively from a home office while collaborating with distributed customers, vendors, and internal teams. Travel on a limited basis as required. Requirements Associate degree in Computer Science, General Business, or a related field, combined with relevant professional experience; alternatively, approximately 7 years of directly relevant experience. At least 3 years of HL7 experience and/or Level 1 certification with the Cloverleaf interface engine. Experience with project management and coordinating technical implementation activities. Basic networking knowledge and experience working with Windows Server environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with AI-assisted productivity tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT. Programming or scripting experience with technologies such as TCL, PowerShell, Python, XML, or C. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred. Cloverleaf and/or HL7 V2 certification is preferred. Familiarity with multiple interface engines such as Cloverleaf, CorePoint, Iguana, InterSystems, NextGen, Oracle Health Integration, or Rhapsody is advantageous. Knowledge of cloud-native integration platforms and healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 V2.x, CDA, FHIR, JSON, REST APIs, Web Services, XML, and X12. Experience with Linux and AWS environments is a plus. Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Benefits Salary: U.S. base salary range of $112,800–$169,200 per year , with actual compensation depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
