This is an upcoming application window, not an open vacancy on 27 August 2026. The programme combines live tax casework with formal learning and examinations over approximately three years and three months to four years. Starting salary is at least GBP 37,682, or GBP 42,631 in London; successful completion leads to a minimum GBP 58,541, or GBP 65,869 in London. Roles are based in 14 regional centres and require at least 60% office attendance.
Requirements & qualifications
External applicants need or expect a 2:2 degree or equivalent by September 2027; existing civil servants do not need a degree. No prior tax knowledge is required. Applicants must satisfy Civil Service nationality and UK right-to-work rules. Visa sponsorship is not available.
