Overview

Croatian research organizations can seek €60,000–€200,000 from HRZZ for the Croatian part of four-year Swiss-Croatian Weave research projects. The Croatian EPP submission is due 8 October 2026 at 12:00 CET.

Complete grant details

HRZZ is funding the Croatian component of joint Swiss-Croatian research projects under the Weave initiative. A Swiss principal investigator and Croatian partner prepare a joint scientific proposal; the Swiss lead submits the joint proposal to SNSF while the Croatian proposer simultaneously submits the Croatian research-project application through HRZZ's EPP system. All scientific fields are eligible. HRZZ states that the Croatian share may receive €60,000 to €200,000 for four years. SNSF performs the scientific evaluation and HRZZ checks Croatian administrative eligibility.

Eligibility requirements

Eligible Croatian proposing organizations are higher-education institutions, scientific institutes, and other research-oriented institutions that employ at least five PhD holders for more than one year. The proposal must be a closely connected and complementary Swiss-Croatian joint research project led on the Swiss side by a principal investigator at a Swiss organization.

Tips for this grant

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Coordinate the joint scientific proposal with the Swiss lead applicant before submitting the Croatian EPP component.
  2. In the HRZZ EPP system, follow the call instructions for the WEAVE-2024 deadline option.
  3. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  4. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  5. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  6. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Verified on the HRZZ open-calls page. HRZZ states 8 October 2026 at 12:00 CET for the Croatian EPP submission; this is normalized to 11:00 UTC from the explicitly stated CET offset. The €60,000–€200,000 range applies to the Croatian part, not the total Swiss-Croatian project. The official call code IPCH-2026-10 is retained as the stable source reference so this call does not collide with other HRZZ calls sharing the same open-calls URL during import.
