The current Humboldt Research Fellowship call has reached its application cap. The next call opens on 15 November 2026. Postdocs can receive EUR 3,000 per month for 6–24 months; experienced researchers can receive EUR 3,600 per month, plus additional benefits, for research with a host institution in Germany.
Eligibility requirements
Researchers of all nationalities other than Germany and across research fields may apply. Postdoc applicants are generally within four years of their doctorate; experienced researchers are generally within twelve years and must meet the programme's publication, host and research-profile requirements.
