Full job description
IMPRS-IS is an interdisciplinary doctoral programme of the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, the University of Stuttgart and the University of Tübingen. Applications submitted by the next deadline are considered for the 2027 hiring round, with accepted applicants eligible to start from February 2027 or later. All IMPRS-IS PhD scholars receive an initial three-year work contract and a salary at least equivalent to 65% of a TVöD E13 German employment contract; extensions may be possible.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants should have or be completing a Master’s degree in a field related to intelligent systems, have strong English skills and demonstrate motivation to advance research in intelligent systems. English evidence is requested for non-native speakers; GRE scores are optional. Final eligibility and supervisor fit are determined by IMPRS-IS.
