Our client is seeking an Industrial Relations Partner to support a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees, ensuring sound employee relations, legal compliance, and constructive engagement between employees and management.
This is a hands-on advisory role for an experienced IR professional who can balance business priorities with employee wellbeing, and who is confident navigating complex people matters with both empathy and authority.
Responsibilities
- Advise on and manage employee and industrial relations matters across the business
- Guide managers through misconduct, incapacity, poor performance, and grievance processes
- Ensure disciplinary and grievance procedures are fair, compliant, and consistently applied
- Support CCMA cases and external labour processes
- Provide guidance on labour legislation, company policies, and best practice
- Identify trends and proactively mitigate employee relations risk
- Support the development and implementation of IR policies, frameworks, and training
- Report directly to the HR Manager
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in an Industrial Relations or Employee Relations role
- Solid, practical knowledge of South African labour legislation
- Proven experience managing disciplinary and grievance processes
- Strong judgement, emotional intelligence, and conflict-resolution capability
- Confident communicator able to influence at all levels
- Calm, fair, and solutions-oriented approach in sensitive situations
