Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Senior Vice President – Data Centers, ANS based in the United States. This is a senior executive leadership role focused on growing and delivering large-scale data center capital projects in a rapidly evolving infrastructure market. You will combine business development, strategic leadership, client relationship management, and project execution to expand a high-impact data center portfolio. The role requires deep expertise in hyperscale environments, construction, commissioning, MEP systems, contracts, and complex capital programs. You will lead senior teams, develop strategic opportunities, oversee major client engagements, and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle. You will also serve as a trusted industry advisor, contributing thought leadership and helping clients solve their most challenging infrastructure needs. With remote flexibility and client and project travel, this position offers the opportunity to shape the future of data center development at significant scale.

Develop annual budgets, strategic objectives, and long-term growth priorities for the data center capital projects business, with a focus on sustainable revenue and market expansion. Lead business development initiatives and collaborate with leaders across business units, regions, and functions to identify, pursue, and secure new opportunities. Build and maintain a broad network of industry contacts, clients, partners, and senior stakeholders to stay informed about market developments and position the business for future growth. Lead and develop senior leaders by setting objectives, assigning accountability, establishing priorities, and fostering a culture built around engagement, psychological safety, collaboration, and high performance. Oversee performance management, incentive compensation, and salary recommendations for assigned senior leaders within established budget parameters. Maintain strategic relationships with major clients through regular executive-level engagement, ensuring objectives are met and identifying opportunities for repeat business and expanded engagements. Evaluate contracts, project backlogs, and client engagements for potential risk exposure, developing and executing mitigation strategies to protect project and business outcomes. Serve as a subject matter expert in data center capital projects, providing technical and industry guidance in internal discussions, client meetings, proposals, and strategic initiatives. Contribute thought leadership through conferences, industry organizations, social media, publications, and other public-facing platforms, strengthening professional and organizational market presence. Oversee one or more major capital programs or projects from concept and initiation through construction, commissioning, completion, handover, and subsequent upgrades or retrofits. Guide project teams and client stakeholders to ensure construction activities remain aligned with project objectives, budgets, schedules, quality expectations, and delivery requirements. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and client teams to achieve successful project outcomes. Identify construction and commissioning risks and develop mitigation plans designed to minimize disruption, protect schedules, and support successful project delivery. Foster effective communication and collaboration across project teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to maintain seamless execution. Work independently to grow the data center capital projects business while leveraging a strong internal network of experienced leaders and subject matter experts. Travel as needed to meet clients, support business development, and oversee project execution while maintaining a primarily remote working arrangement. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience and education. At least 5 years of experience in the data center industry, including strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and commissioning disciplines. At least 3 years of experience working with hyperscale data centers exceeding 30MW. 15+ years of demonstrated functional knowledge of contracts, construction drawings, estimates, specifications, and project requirements, with the ability to ensure compliance throughout complex capital programs. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term strategic plans over a 3–5 year horizon, balancing market growth, client needs, operational priorities, and project delivery. Experience leading large markets, business sectors, or significant portfolios within the infrastructure, construction, engineering, or data center environment. Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate senior teams while achieving results through others. Strong executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships with major clients, industry partners, and senior stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical and commercial concepts clearly and persuasively. Strong understanding of construction contracts, plans, specifications, estimates, project controls, and delivery requirements. Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and manage complex projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with MS Project and/or Primavera. Professional certifications such as PE, CCM, PMP, CFE, COA, or LEED, and/or a Master’s degree are preferred. Ability and willingness to travel as required for client meetings, business development, and project oversight. Benefits: Salary: $300,000–$350,000 USD per year, with compensation influenced by factors such as location, skills, experience, and role level. Remote Flexibility: Primarily remote position with flexibility to support work-life needs and periodic in-person collaboration. Healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision coverage. Financial Benefits: 401(k) plan with employer matching, health savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts. Insurance: Basic life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, and supplemental insurance options. Paid Leave: Paid time off, holidays, and paid maternity, parental, and caregiver leave. Family Support: Adoption and surrogacy assistance. Wellbeing & Support: Employee assistance program, legal resources, and identity theft protection. Professional Growth: Opportunities to lead major hyperscale data center programs, expand market presence, influence strategic growth, and develop senior leadership teams. Industry Exposure: High-level engagement with major clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and infrastructure stakeholders across the data center sector.
