Infrastructure Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Infrastructure Manager based in India. This role offers the opportunity to lead a geographically distributed infrastructure team supporting critical global operations. You will combine people leadership with responsibility for secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure services. The position spans day-to-day operations, major infrastructure projects, incident management, and continuous improvement across a complex hybrid environment. You will contribute to cloud transformation, data centre exit, infrastructure modernisation, automation, and resilience initiatives. Working across Azure, networking, storage, backup, monitoring, and platform services, you will help shape a reliable technology foundation for the organisation. The role is ideal for an experienced infrastructure leader who can balance strategic transformation with operational excellence while developing high-performing teams.

Lead and develop a geographically distributed Infrastructure team across India, the UK, and APAC, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous development. Manage priorities, resources, capacity, and delivery across infrastructure projects, operational activities, incidents, and escalations. Drive operational excellence across Azure, hybrid infrastructure, networking, storage, backup, monitoring, automation, and resilience services. Lead critical infrastructure incident response, service recovery, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure infrastructure services meet required quality, security, governance, reliability, and operational standards. Support major technology transformation programmes, including cloud modernisation, data centre exit, infrastructure optimisation, migration, and M&A integration. Promote automation, service optimisation, FinOps, capacity management, and cost-efficiency practices across infrastructure operations. Collaborate with Security, IAM, Network Services, Helpdesk, Architecture, Operations, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise technology priorities. Monitor and communicate delivery progress, operational performance, risks, dependencies, resource requirements, and service issues to relevant stakeholders. Manage team performance, workforce planning, capability development, coaching, and succession planning. Build high-performing, inclusive, and accountable engineering teams across multiple locations and time zones. Contribute to infrastructure initiatives involving Microsoft Azure, PaaS technologies, containerised platforms, and emerging AI-enabled infrastructure capabilities. Strengthen resilience, disaster recovery, backup, monitoring, and capacity planning practices across the infrastructure estate. Requirements Significant experience leading Infrastructure, Cloud, Platform Engineering, or IT Operations teams within enterprise environments. Proven experience managing geographically distributed or remote teams across multiple locations and time zones. Strong background in infrastructure delivery, operational management, service reliability, and project execution. Demonstrated experience with resource planning, capacity management, risk management, dependency management, and delivery prioritisation. Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, capability development, and workforce planning. Experience managing critical incidents, escalations, service recovery, and operational improvement programmes. Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructure environments. Working knowledge of networking, storage, backup, monitoring, automation, resilience, disaster recovery, and service management. Experience supporting cloud transformation, migration, data centre exit, infrastructure modernisation, or M&A integration programmes. Understanding of FinOps principles, infrastructure optimisation, cost management, and capacity planning. Experience implementing automation and platform services to improve operational efficiency and reliability. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Security, Architecture, IAM, Operations, and business functions. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex operational or high-pressure situations. Relevant cloud, infrastructure, management, or project delivery certifications are desirable. Ability to lead transformation while maintaining reliable day-to-day infrastructure operations.
