Maintain a minimum coding accuracy target of 95% while meeting established productivity expectations, including an average of approximately two inpatient charts per hour. Work assigned coding and pending queues daily and ensure charts are coded or appropriately pended within required turnaround times. Review quality-assurance queues, communicate corrections, and collaborate with internal quality teams to maintain facility-specific standards. Respond accurately and professionally to coding and billing questions from physicians and hospital stakeholders within established service levels. Collaborate with facility and internal IT teams to troubleshoot system issues and maintain effective use of coding and client platforms. Keep client portals, email, timekeeping, and billing systems current and accurate throughout the workday. Maintain HIPAA-compliant work practices, protect patient privacy, and follow all applicable facility and organizational policies and procedures. Maintain required professional credentials and complete assigned continuing education and coding certification requirements. Escalate coding discrepancies, operational issues, downtime, or potential delays promptly to administrative and supervisory teams. Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education. At least 5 years of experience with inpatient ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding. At least 1 year of dedicated inpatient pediatric coding experience. Current professional certification through one of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, or CPC. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to balance coding accuracy, productivity, and turnaround requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, hospitals, coding teams, and supervisors. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams. Strong accountability, professionalism, organization, and commitment to patient privacy and data security. Experience with Epic is preferred.
