About Us

The Office of Institutional Research and Analytics (OIRA) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) supports evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning across the university. Reporting directly to the Office of the Chancellor, OIRA serves academic and administrative units, as well as internal and external stakeholders, by delivering high-quality data, insightful analysis and actionable recommendations.

Guided by the duties and functions outlined by the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), OIRA focuses on:

  • Identifying and addressing institutional information needs

  • Collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting data to inform decisions

  • Contributing to strategic planning, evaluation and continuous improvement

  • Promoting data literacy and effective information use across the university

Graduate Destination Survey The Graduate Destination Survey (GDS) is administered twice a year to AUS graduates by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research: nine months after degree completion, and from Fall 2025 onwards, 12 months after graduation. The survey primarily measures graduates’ employment outcomes and also captures reflections on their experience while studying at AUS, with the university playing a very active role in driving high response rates.
