Full Job Description

To support your studies at the University of Sheffield, we are offering scholarships worth £7,000 to international students from selected regions. This scholarship is awarded automatically to eligible offer holders, with no additional application required.

Scholarship Overview

  • Value: £7,000 tuition fee reduction
  • Allocation: Automatic (no application required)

Eligibility

  • You must commence your studies of a postgraduate taught degree at the University of Sheffield in September 2027.
  • The scholarship is available to all postgraduate taught offer holders from the following countries/regions: India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, and Vietnam. To be eligible, you must be a permanent resident of, or have lived in, one of these countries/regions for the last three years.
  • You must accept your offer from the University before 4pm (UK time) on Tuesday 6 July 2027. No additional scholarship application is required.

Further Information

  • The £7,000 scholarship cannot be awarded in conjunction with any funding (full or partial) from an external sponsor**, excluding a loan, which has to be paid back in full. If you are receiving a loan (which has to be paid back in full) from an organisation to which we offer a discount, you are not able to combine this scholarship with the discount - the most valuable award will take precedence.
  • The scholarship cannot be awarded in conjunction with any other scholarship or discount offered by the University unless explicitly stated.
  • You must accept both your PGT offer and your pre-sessional English course offer if you are studying both.
  • If you accept your first offer by the deadline, but then later apply for and accept a different offer for a different programme, you will still be eligible for the scholarship.
  • Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) and Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) courses are ineligible for the International Postgraduate Taught Scholarship 2027.
  • You must be self-funded and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
  • You must study a course in full at the University of Sheffield. Masters programmes split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution are not eligible for a scholarship.
  • All Crossways courses and Erasmus Mundus courses are ineligible for an automatic scholarship.
  • The scholarship is for full-time students only. Students studying online or via distance learning are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • This scholarship is available to students from the University of Sheffield International College (USIC).
  • These scholarships are not applicable to any postgraduate courses where the higher clinical fee is applicable.
  • If you are studying a 2-year masters programme the £7,000 scholarship will be available in the second year of your studies subject to successful completion of year 1.
  • The scholarship is not applicable to any years in industry or study abroad years that are compulsory or optional elements of your course.
  • This scholarship cannot be deferred to a future year of entry. If you decide to defer entry to another year you forfeit this award.
  • For scholarship purposes all MArch programmes are considered as postgraduate taught programmes so are eligible for this scholarship.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure you receive any funding you are eligible for. Funding cannot be backdated to previous years regardless of eligibility.
  • A sponsored student is defined as being an individual in receipt of a total sum of funds from either the University or an external organisation** that matches or exceeds the original tuition fee required by the University.

** Government or governmental organisation – international, national or regional; research council; charity; private enterprise; or any similar organisation.

Tips for this scholarship

Practical JobOpportunity guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Extracted from a public opportunity page using specific title, application/deadline, eligibility and benefit signals. Aggregator/news pages remain review-controlled unless an official provider page is successfully verified.
