Independent postdoctoral fellowship for researchers in astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology to establish their own research program at ISTA.
Complete fellowship details
The fellowship provides a minimum salary of EUR 76,986 gross per year plus an annual EUR 25,000 research and travel budget, access to ISTA research infrastructure, social-security benefits and professional-development support. Successful fellows are expected to start around 1 September 2027.
Eligibility requirements
The PhD must have been awarded no more than six years before fellowship commencement. Researchers already employed at ISTA are not eligible. Top-ranked candidates must be available for remote interviews on 16–18 November 2026.
