IT Administrator with 8VC Portfolio Company (Onsite, Dallas, TX)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Administrator to support our U.S. team as we expand our operations. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of our information technology functions, ensuring data security, regulatory compliance, and the effective management of all IT domains. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Dallas, TX.

About Us

We are a U.S. defense company specializing in delivering advanced hardware solutions to address strategic challenges facing the United States and its allies. Our work is conducted in close partnership with government stakeholders, built on a culture of accountability, discretion, and execution.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day IT operations to ensure secure, reliable, efficient, and compliant office systems.

  • Coordinate IT activities with internal teams, external vendors, and third-party assessors.

  • Maintain and enhance our cybersecurity posture by implementing and maintaining controls aligned to NIST (800-171/53), ITAR, and CMMC Level 2 compliance standards.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance: keep the organization audit-ready, manage SSPs, and address cybersecurity gaps promptly.

  • Administer, expand, and secure U.S. systems, identities, endpoints, and access rights.

  • Enforce least privilege principles; onboard and manage user access, and maintain hardened systems.

  • Monitor security tasks, track deadlines, and deliver compliance objectives.

  • Develop and update IT policies, processes, and documentation to support company growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain ongoing security, compliance, and audit readiness for all IT systems.

  • Uphold a strong, defensible security posture for U.S. government work.

  • Ensure all systems and data adhere to federal cybersecurity standards.

What You Bring

  • Exceptional organizational and ownership skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Sound judgment and reliability in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

  • Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical senior stakeholders.

  • Experience with or supporting DoD/U.S. government regulated environments.

  • 5+ years in IT support, systems administration, or similar roles.

  • Ability to work onsite in Dallas, TX.

Preferred:

  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Why This Role Matters

This position is fundamental to maintaining secure, compliant operations with U.S. government partners. Your expertise will help build the infrastructure and safeguards that empower our team to perform impactful work of national importance in a high-trust environment.
