Joinery Draftsman (Woodwork / Production)

Our client, a leading company in the joinery industry, is seeking a Joinery Draftsman to join their team in Dubai.

With a focus on bespoke luxury interiors for high-end residential and commercial projects, our client specializes in crafting exceptional custom furniture and joinery that brings unique designs and concepts to life.

The role requires strong experience in woodwork and bespoke joinery detailing and focuses on preparing accurate production drawings, material breakdowns, and technical details to support the manufacturing of high-quality custom joinery pieces.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed joinery shop drawings for custom woodwork including cabinets, wardrobes, doors, wall paneling, and bespoke furniture
• Develop drawings from design concepts, sketches, and specifications into production-ready details
• Create cutting lists, material take-offs, and assembly drawings for factory execution
• Coordinate closely with the production and workshop team to ensure drawings are practical and manufacturable
• Ensure accuracy in dimensions, joinery details, finishes, and material specifications
• Revise drawings based on production feedback and site measurements
• Support in optimizing designs for efficient production and material usage
• Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings
• Assist with as-built drawings and final documentation when required

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering
• 3–6 years of experience specifically in joinery / woodwork drafting in the UAE
• Strong experience in custom joinery detailing and furniture production drawings
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Good understanding of wood materials: MDF, plywood, veneers, laminates, solid wood, finishes
• Familiarity with joinery techniques, hardware, and assembly methods
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and convert them into production-ready outputs
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred

• Experience working in a joinery factory or production environment
• Knowledge of CNC cutting / manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with SketchUp or similar tools
