The 18th HOPE Meeting will take place in Yokohama from 28 February to 4 March 2027. JSPS describes the program as a meeting for selected graduate students and early-career researchers from Asia-Pacific and African partner regions. Egypt's Ministry of Higher Education publishes a country-specific nomination route and states that JSPS covers the meeting costs, accommodation, meals, the meeting venue/hotel, transfers between Narita/Tokyo international airports and the hotel/meeting venue, and overseas travel insurance during the meeting. The nominee must pay for the international airfare to Japan.
Eligibility requirements
For the Egypt nomination route, the Ministry notice calls for doctoral-degree holders or young researchers in physics, chemistry, physiology/medicine or related fields. JSPS lists Egypt among the overseas participating/nominating countries. Applicants must follow the Egyptian nominating authority's submission requirements rather than the Japan-domestic online application route.
