KAUST's 2027 Global Fellowship Program is a three-year, fully supported postdoctoral opportunity for early-career researchers of all nationalities proposing independent research aligned with KAUST missions.
Complete fellowship details
Call 2027 opens 1 September 2026. Stage 1 Concept Notes are accepted 1 September–1 October 2026; invited Stage 2 full proposals are accepted 15 November 2026–15 January 2027. Fellows receive a US$6,250 monthly stipend (US$75,000 annually), health insurance, free housing, schooling/daycare subsidy, relocation and annual travel assistance, plus a separate research allowance of up to US$40,000 per year.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants of any nationality must hold a PhD awarded within four calendar years (for the January 2027 cycle, after January 2023 inclusive), or complete the PhD before the fellowship starts. Applicants must be ready to relocate to KAUST, identify up to two aligned KAUST faculty members at Stage 1, and propose a three-year project in Water, Food, Health, Energy, AI or Red Sea research. Host PI support is required to advance to the full-proposal stage.
Tips for this fellowship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified on the official KAUST Global Fellowship website and current Call 2027 how-to-apply page on 26 August 2026. Official pages state Stage 1 runs 1 September–1 October 2026 but do not state a closing clock time; deadline is therefore kept null rather than inventing a time.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
