Lead Product Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Product Engineer based in United States. This role is for a hands-on product engineer who wants to build and ship production software at an accelerated pace. You’ll work within a small team of senior consultants and AI agents, delivering working product in 5-day development cycles against a live backlog. Rather than focusing on prototypes, presentations, or lengthy planning cycles, you’ll own technical decisions and deliver software that reaches real users quickly. You’ll operate across the stack, applying strong engineering judgment whenever work crosses frontend, backend, cloud, or AI boundaries. AI agents are integrated directly into the development workflow, handling repeatable engineering work while you provide direction, review, and critical judgment. You’ll have significant autonomy, influence technical direction, and help continuously improve the agentic development framework through real-world feedback. Build and ship production-ready product functionality during recurring 5-day development cycles, working directly against a live backlog. Operate effectively across the technology stack, taking ownership of work even when it crosses traditional frontend, backend, cloud, or AI boundaries. Provide technical direction within a small autonomous engineering swarm and guide decisions when the best path forward is unclear. Work closely with AI agents to delegate meaningful engineering tasks, critically review generated output, and override or refine solutions when necessary. Feed learnings and identified failure patterns back into the agentic development framework to continuously improve how AI agents perform engineering work. Identify product needs proactively, prioritize the work that matters, and drive tasks through to completion without waiting for detailed assignments. Translate detailed product specifications into implementations that accurately reflect the intended experience and functionality. Ship features that can be evaluated through real-world usage and iterate based on what users and product data reveal. Communicate blockers, technical decisions, and emerging risks directly and quickly. Contribute across the full product lifecycle, from understanding what needs to be built through production delivery and iteration. Requirements: Strong software engineering skills with the ability to write clean, production-ready code and work comfortably across the stack. Demonstrated engineering judgment and the ability to make sound technical decisions in autonomous, fast-moving environments. Practical experience using AI agents as active engineering collaborators rather than simply as autocomplete or coding assistants. Ability to determine when AI-generated output is reliable, when it requires correction, and how feedback can be incorporated to improve future agent performance. Comfortable taking ownership without waiting for assigned tasks, with a track record of independently identifying and closing product or engineering gaps. Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to surface blockers and decisions quickly and clearly. Experience working effectively on small, autonomous teams with limited management overhead. Familiarity with spec-driven development and the ability to turn detailed specifications into accurate implementations. Experience building and releasing product features and using real user behavior to guide iteration and improvement. Experience with React, modern frontend frameworks, full-stack TypeScript, or Microsoft technologies such as .NET Core and C# is a plus. Experience building component systems or design-system-driven user interfaces is a plus. Production experience with Azure, Python, or Node.js is a plus. Hands-on experience with agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot Workspace, or comparable platforms is a plus. Experience creating instructions, skills, plugins, or other mechanisms that enable AI agents to perform meaningful engineering work is highly valuable. Experience integrating AI APIs such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or equivalent into production applications is a plus. Familiarity with designing and controlling agentic development loops rather than relying on extended conversational coding sessions. Evidence of building and shipping software—such as repositories, side projects, or meaningful pull requests—is valued more than specific years of experience, certifications, schools, or employer names.
