The appointment is planned to begin on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with possible renewal subject to satisfactory performance. Responsibilities include curriculum development, interdisciplinary teaching, student-project supervision, academic advising, admissions and outreach, external and internal liaison, and committee and administrative duties. HKU states that the package includes a competitive salary, annual leave and medical benefits, with contract-end gratuity and University retirement contribution totalling up to 15% of basic salary; housing benefits apply to Senior Lecturer appointments where applicable.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants should hold a PhD in Science, Engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate capacity to make high-quality contributions to higher education. Experience collaborating with local or overseas secondary schools is an advantage. Candidates with more than five years of tertiary-level teaching or equivalent professional teaching experience plus strong pedagogical and curriculum leadership may be considered for Senior Lecturer.
