WIPO is recruiting a P4 Legal Counsellor in Geneva within the Copyright Law Division to coordinate and provide legislative, regulatory and policy advice to member states on copyright and related rights.

Full job description

The initial fixed-term appointment is two years. The official notice lists a net annual base salary of USD 77,326 plus a USD 65,186 post adjustment based on the August 2026 rate, paid in Swiss francs with the post adjustment subject to change. Duties include legal drafting and opinions, treaty implementation support, research, supervision of junior staff and consultants, and coordination of training and policy assistance.

Requirements & qualifications

Advanced university degree in law, or an accepted first-level law/related degree route with additional experience, plus at least seven years of relevant legal experience including intellectual property and copyright/related rights. Excellent written and spoken English and one other official UN language are required.
