POSITION SUMMARY Shipwide Sound & Light Technician is in an integral part Cruise Department, focused on delivering a vibrant and "Remarkably Arabian" experience. This role involves supporting the Entertainment Technical Manager and Cruise Director in the delivery of the Entertainment product to our Guests inside the ship by being responsible for the use/operation, movement, and storage of all audio-visual equipment as delegated/assigned by the Technical Entertainment Manager for performances by entertainers, as well as all programmed activities by the entertainment staff. The Shipwide Sound & Light Technician must be able to act as audio-visual troubleshooter to help solve any equipment or staging problems as delegated by the Entertainment Technical Manager and must be able to adjust to changes in schedules, assignments and deadlines while maintaining a collaborative and positive team environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Expertise in Light & Sound: Demonstrates intermediate to advanced knowledge of standard theatre operations including, Audio and Lighting operations, has the ability to set, strike, operate or otherwise work with relative Audio-Visual (AV) equipment as instructed by the Entertainment Technical Manager in accordance with the specific disciplines assigned. Sets up any appropriate venue where a lecture or other activity may be conducted, as required by the Assistant Cruise Director and Cruise Director. Designs or implements the design of lighting, sound, and stage effects for Featured Entertainers/Musicians as assigned. They will work to ensure a positively, vibrant and culturally immersive guest experience. Must be able to provide quality service and be able to enhance the experience for guests onboard. Guest Engagement: Provides courteous service to guests and attends to queries and resolves all guests’ complaints immediately. Is aware of, and/or acquires the necessary knowledge to comply with the ship’s standard operation, in order to assist guests and crew members with inquiries.

Communication: Maintains ongoing communication with Entertainment Technical Manager and fellow team members to ensure alignment and address any needs or concerns. Ensures any feedback or ‘guest complaints’ are directed to the right areas for positive and efficient resolution. Grooming Standards Compliance: Always adheres to grooming standards in alignment with brand expectations and guidelines. Safety and Compliance: Responsible for performing Safety, Environmental, and Emergency Response duties as assigned, in accordance with Aroya Cruises' protocols. Always enforces the company policies and procedures. Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required. Equipment Management/Maintenance: Reports any equipment in need of repair or replacement to the Entertainment Technical Manager Inventory Management: Conducts monthly inventory counts and daily checks on inventory. Time Management: Effectively practice proper time management to prepare, execute and break down set ups and venues for assigned activities and events. Embarkation/Disembarkation: Supports with guest flow and general assistance of the Hotel Department to ensure the guests receive a ‘remarkably Arabian’ welcome and farewell. Additional Duties: Carries out any other duty which may be reasonably requested by the Entertainment Technical Manager or Cruise Director SKILLS Demonstrates strong command of both verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic is desired. Capable of addressing issues effectively and developing appropriate solutions. Exhibits strong customer service skills Outgoing, Proactive and Team Player. Able to communicate and socialise well with peers and guests. Must have a positive and pleasant work attitude. Must be able to work and excel in a team environment and individually. Must be able to adapt to confined and sometimes limited living conditions for extended periods of time. Must be flexible in terms of last minute changes in itineraries, activities and events.
