Complete research opportunity details
AFdoc is a new doctoral-training funding instrument following the revised FNR law. It supports talented doctoral candidates with a clear link to Luxembourg undertaking PhD projects in established research environments abroad or through collaborations involving Luxembourg-based R&D companies. Funding is awarded to eligible host institutions, which employ selected doctoral candidates under an employment contract. FNR states that funding may cover up to four years and that the maximum annual salary contribution is €54,574 including employer charges, social-security and pension contributions. Tuition fees and related research costs are not eligible.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must satisfy AFdoc's Luxembourg-link and doctoral-project conditions. Company-based projects must involve collaboration with a public-sector PhD-awarding institution such as the University of Luxembourg or a university abroad. The scheme is open across research and technological-development fields under the official host and supervision requirements.
