Financial Risk Transformation Consultant / Senior Consultant

Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Finance, Risk, Regulatory & Financial Crime | Type: Permanent

Lead meaningful risk transformation at the heart of financial services

The Role

Capco is seeking Financial Risk Consultants and Senior Consultants to join our growing Finance, Risk, Regulatory & Financial Crime (FRRF) capability. You'll advise clients on regulatory frameworks, optimise risk controls, and lead transformation in support of Chief Risk Officers. This is a chance to deliver complex, high-impact work across credit, market, liquidity, and capital risks. You'll also leverage approved AI tools and AI-enabled ways of working to enhance analysis, accelerate insight generation, and improve delivery while applying appropriate human judgement and responsible AI practices.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver advisory and implementation projects relating to Basel, IFRS 9, BCBS 239, and other key regulations, using AI-enabled analysis where appropriate to improve efficiency and insight.

  • Support risk control improvements, regulatory change, and data-driven risk reporting and modelling, identifying opportunities to enhance delivery through AI-enabled workflows and automation.

  • Evaluate client risk practices, identify process improvements, and recommend practical solutions using data-driven insights while ensuring appropriate human oversight of AI-assisted outputs.

  • Collaborate across Credit Risk, Market Risk, Finance, Legal, Technology, and other business functions to deliver effective transformation outcomes.

  • Contribute to internal capability building, business development, and risk thought leadership, including identifying opportunities to responsibly apply AI to client solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience delivering risk and regulatory change initiatives within financial services.

  • Strong knowledge of Basel, IFRS 9, BCBS 239, and wider prudential regulatory frameworks across credit, market, liquidity, and capital risk.

  • Practical experience in risk assessments, target operating model design, and control implementation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using approved AI tools to support analysis, productivity, and decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills together with an interest in responsible AI adoption within regulated environments.

Bonus Points For

  • Track record of delivery as a Project Manager or Business Analyst.

  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing across business functions.

  • Experience delivering data, analytics, technology, or AI-enabled risk transformation initiatives.

  • Contributions to risk frameworks, control evaluation, or target operating model design.

  • For senior candidates, experience in people leadership, proposition development, and supporting business growth.
