Manager, People Operations

We're looking for a Manager, People Services & Operations to own and scale the systems, processes, and platforms that power our employee experience from the moment someone becomes a candidate through offboarding. This person will drive process improvements and automation, oversee global mobility and right-to-work operations, and serve as a key escalation point for complex or sensitive employee cases, all while managing a small People Services team. The ideal candidate understands how People Operations, immigration, payroll, benefits, and compliance intersect across regions and can build scalable processes that deliver a consistent employee experience while managing risk. What You'll Do Lead, empower, and coach a small but mighty People Services team dedicated to seamless daily case management and high-impact projects while fostering continuous engagement and career development Oversee service desk management, SLA oversight, ticket quality, CSAT, and continuous improvement Establish and maintain data integrity processes, audit schedules, documentation, and compliance controls Manage day-to-day Workday operations, including addressing escalated issues using consistent application of HR policies, owning process changes with operational excellence, and ensuring timely, accurate issue resolution ahead of payroll deadlines Support and continuously improve global mobility programs, including immigration case coordination, relocations, cross-border transfers, visa support, right-to-work compliance, and mobility-related employee changes Establish scalable workflows, service standards, communication protocols, and documentation for global mobility and employee lifecycle processes Optimize processes across onboarding, offboarding, global mobility, and broader People Operations workflows Identify and implement opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improved employee and manager support Partner with Payroll, Tax, Employment Legal, IT, Talent, Security and external immigration providers, and business leaders to resolve complex, sensitive, or ambiguous employee matters Partner closely with People Success on employee matters, business initiatives, and operational improvements, translating business needs into scalable People Services solutions and providing insights, guidance, and support/expertise What We're Looking For 4+ years of experience in HR/People Operations, HRIS, People Services, global mobility, or a related field; people management experience preferred Experience supporting global mobility programs, immigration processes, right-to-work compliance, international hiring, relocations, or cross-border employee changes Hands-on experience with Workday and HR service or ticketing platforms such as Serval, JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar Understanding of how immigration, payroll, tax, benefits, and employment compliance intersect during global employee moves Demonstrated experience managing service operations, including SLA tracking, data integrity, audits, workflow optimization, and automation Experience leading or supporting system migrations, process harmonization, automation initiatives, or global mobility program improvements Strong organizational skills and a track record of managing complex, detail-intensive workstreams without losing sight of deadlines or accuracy Sound judgment and discretion when handling ambiguous, sensitive, or confidential employee matters Excellent cross-functional communication skills and the ability to build effective partnerships across Payroll, Tax, Legal, IT, Talent, external providers, and business leaders Demonstrated ownership, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to resolving complex, ambiguous challenges   Navan uses AI-assisted Automated Employment Decision Tool (Metaview) to assist with evaluating resumes against job qualifications for this role.
