Market Access Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Market Access Specialist based in Canada. This role supports market access, reimbursement, government affairs, and stakeholder engagement initiatives designed to improve patient access to healthcare products and services across Canada. You will contribute to reimbursement submissions, funding applications, value communication materials, and strategic market access projects. Working across commercial, marketing, clinical, regulatory, consumer care, and global teams, you will help translate complex healthcare evidence into clear, actionable resources. The position combines research, analysis, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement within the Canadian healthcare environment. You will monitor policy and funding developments and turn relevant findings into insights that support business and access objectives. The role offers a collaborative environment with exposure to healthcare policy, reimbursement, health economics, and government affairs. This is a remote opportunity for candidates outside commuting distance of Oakville, Ontario, while local employees are expected to follow a hybrid arrangement.

Support the development and execution of Canadian market access and reimbursement strategies, working closely with the Market Access & Government Affairs leadership team. Maintain current knowledge of Canadian reimbursement frameworks, provincial and federal funding programs, payer requirements, and healthcare policy developments. Prepare and coordinate reimbursement submissions, funding applications, value dossiers, and supporting documentation for public and private payers. Research, analyze, and summarize reimbursement, policy, market access, and healthcare system information to support strategic and business decisions. Monitor changes in reimbursement, funding, policy, and legislation and communicate relevant developments and implications to internal stakeholders. Support government affairs and stakeholder engagement initiatives involving government representatives, payers, industry organizations, clinicians, and patient advocacy groups. Coordinate stakeholder meetings, advocacy activities, external engagements, stakeholder databases, engagement plans, and related documentation. Contribute to reimbursement, health economic, and value communication materials by synthesizing clinical, economic, utilization, and healthcare system evidence. Coordinate the collection and validation of scientific, clinical, commercial, and business data used in market access initiatives. Adapt global evidence packages, tools, and resources to meet the requirements of the Canadian healthcare and reimbursement environment. Coordinate project timelines, milestones, deliverables, risks, and action items across market access, reimbursement, and government affairs initiatives. Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory, Consumer Care, and Global teams to ensure effective execution of cross-functional projects. Support strategic initiatives and special projects assigned by the Market Access & Government Affairs leadership team. Conduct all activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes of conduct, and organizational policies. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher in Political Science, Government Affairs, Health Policy, or a related discipline. At least 3 years of relevant experience in market access, reimbursement, health economics, healthcare consulting, government affairs, public policy, or a related healthcare field. Strong knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system, including provincial and federal funding mechanisms, reimbursement processes, and health policy development. Understanding of pricing and reimbursement environments and government or payer review processes within the medical device or life sciences sector. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret clinical, economic, reimbursement, healthcare utilization, and other relevant data. Experience developing or contributing to reimbursement submissions, value demonstration materials, economic evidence, or stakeholder communications. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex healthcare information into clear materials for different audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25%, including travel within Canada, to the United States, and internationally. Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare technology, or healthcare consulting is an asset. Experience working with Canadian public and private payers is preferred. Experience in health economics, reimbursement analytics, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), or economic value evidence supporting funding and coverage decisions is an asset. Bilingual English/French capability is strongly preferred. Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
