ABOUT THE ROLE
Full job description
ABOUT THE ROLE This is a founding marketing hire at an early-stage AI/ML infrastructure startup, joining a small, highly technical team in San Francisco to own brand, content, and events from the ground up. You will translate complex reinforcement learning and AI evaluation concepts into compelling narratives for researchers, engineers, and enterprise buyers. The role is pivotal in building lasting awareness and pipeline within a fast-moving, deeply technical community. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own and execute the overall marketing strategy and content calendar across all channels.
- Lead social media presence on Twitter/X and LinkedIn to grow audience, engagement, and inbound interest.
- Ghostwrite high-quality content for founders that communicates product vision, platform insights, and key wins.
- Translate complex technical product concepts into clear, accurate narratives tailored to a technical audience.
- Develop and refine the company's voice, positioning, and storytelling across all touchpoints.
- Experiment with content formats and double down on what drives measurable results.
- Identify high-leverage event opportunities such as conferences, hackathons, and technical community gatherings.
- Plan and run memorable, high-quality events that reinforce brand and generate pipeline.
- Support founders and team members with event presence, including talks and panels. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 2 to 7 years of experience in marketing, content, or community roles at startups, ideally early-stage.
- Proven track record of growing social accounts or company branding, with examples to share.
- A writing portfolio that demonstrates the ability to understand technical products and explain them simply and accurately.
- Hands-on experience planning and running events, meetups, or community programs end-to-end.
- Background marketing AI/ML products, developer tools, or technical platforms. B2C-only or consumer social experience alone is not sufficient.
- Native fluency in the AI space, including active participation in relevant online communities and networks.
- Strong network within RL research, RL engineering, or broader technical startup communities.
- Familiarity with analytics tools and growth strategies for social and content.
- Ability to operate independently with a high degree of ownership in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: $100,000 to $150,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in San Francisco, CA, United States.
