The Max Planck Institute for Physics is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to lead ATLAS Run 3 Higgs-boson data analyses within its ATLAS Muon Group.

The main focus is either off-shell Higgs production in decays to Z-boson pairs or Higgs decays to tau-lepton pairs, including hadronic-tau reconstruction. Work on other ATLAS physics topics may be considered, and optional hardware work includes FPGA-based trigger processors for the ATLAS muon spectrometer and future colliders. The initial contract is two years and may be extended subject to law and funding.
Eligibility requirements
A PhD in particle physics and substantial data-analysis experience are required. Strong programming, machine-learning methods such as simulation-based inference or transformers, and fitting-tool experience are advantageous.
