APU is accepting 2027 graduate applications for consideration for the MEXT University Recommendation scholarship for September 2027 enrollment.
Complete scholarship details
Applicants must submit the APU application by 5 November 2026 and request consideration for the scholarship. The award covers the full admission fee and tuition, a monthly subsistence allowance of JPY 144,000 including housing (amount subject to change), and economy airfare between the recipient's home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must intend to study in Japan from overseas, hold nationality from a MEXT-designated country, have been born on or after 2 April 1992, and have at least a 2.30/3.00 GPA at the most recent university. Additional MEXT restrictions on prior scholarships, military service, overlapping awards and Student residence status apply.
