As a Money Laundering Reporting Officer, you will play a critical role in strengthening AML/CFT and sanctions compliance across a rapidly evolving digital financial environment. You will help ensure that regulatory obligations in Brazil are met while maintaining alignment with international standards and risk-based best practices. The role combines regulatory engagement, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, investigations, reporting, and compliance risk management. You will work as an independent second-line-of-defense professional, partnering closely with Legal, Risk, Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders. Your expertise will help strengthen controls, improve data integrity, and identify and mitigate financial crime risks. This is an opportunity to have meaningful regulatory and operational impact within a fast-moving, international, technology-driven environment.

Implement, maintain, and continuously improve AML/CFT and sanctions policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with Brazilian regulatory requirements and international best practices. Act as a key regulatory interface, supporting inspections, regulatory responses, remediation plans, information requests, and ongoing engagement with relevant authorities. Conduct and oversee customer due diligence activities, including CDD, KYC, KYB, and enhanced due diligence reviews, applying risk-based methodologies. Support transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and investigations into potentially suspicious or unusual activity, ensuring appropriate escalation and documentation. Prepare, review, and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports and other applicable regulatory filings to COAF and relevant authorities. Monitor changes in AML/CFT, sanctions, and financial crime regulations and translate regulatory developments into updates to internal policies, procedures, and controls. Deliver or support internal AML/CFT and sanctions training and awareness initiatives to strengthen compliance knowledge across the organization. Conduct periodic financial crime and compliance risk assessments, evaluating the effectiveness of existing controls and ensuring alignment with the broader enterprise risk management framework. Maintain complete and accurate compliance documentation, records, escalation trails, investigation files, and regulatory reporting evidence. Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, compliance reviews, and requests for information. Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Operations, Technology, and other teams to strengthen compliance systems, processes, controls, and data quality. Contribute to the assessment, onboarding, and ongoing oversight of third-party vendors supporting AML/CFT and compliance operations. Requirements: Legal residency in Brazil and authorization to work in the country. At least 7 years of senior-level AML/CFT and sanctions compliance experience within financial services, fintech, cryptocurrency, VASP, or comparable regulated environments. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a second-line-of-defense compliance function, exercising sound judgment and professional accountability. Strong knowledge of Brazilian regulatory requirements, including those applicable to COAF, the Central Bank of Brazil, and CVM, together with a solid understanding of FATF standards. Strong practical expertise in KYC/KYB, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, investigations, and suspicious activity reporting. Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; postgraduate education or professional certifications such as CAMS or ICA are preferred. Excellent analytical and investigative capabilities, with the ability to assess complex financial crime risks and make well-founded decisions. High standards of professional integrity, discretion, independence, and ethical judgment. Fluency in both Portuguese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong understanding of the cryptocurrency and digital asset sector, including its business models, products, market dynamics, operational characteristics, and associated financial crime risks. Ability to demonstrate technical and professional capability appropriate to the responsibilities of the role. Must satisfy applicable fit-and-proper standards, including an unblemished professional reputation and no disqualifying bankruptcy or insolvency history. Benefits: Study Growth Fund to support professional development, education, and continuous learning. Regular internal events, workshops, and team-building activities designed to encourage collaboration and innovation. Opportunity to work with a diverse, international team and collaborate with professionals across global markets. Career advancement opportunities within a rapidly expanding digital financial services environment. Internal mobility opportunities to support long-term career development and progression. Exposure to global AML/CFT and sanctions practices, digital assets, regulatory frameworks, and emerging financial technologies. Opportunity to make a direct impact on financial crime prevention, regulatory compliance, and risk management in a fast-moving industry.
