Nepali Language Interpreter

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Nepali Language Interpreter based in India. This is a fully remote opportunity for a skilled language professional to help people communicate clearly across Nepali and English. You’ll provide real-time interpretation during calls and meetings, ensuring information is conveyed accurately, naturally, and respectfully. The role requires strong listening skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to remain composed when handling sensitive or challenging conversations. Confidentiality and professional ethics are central to the position, particularly when interpreting potentially sensitive information. You’ll also stay current with relevant terminology and participate in ongoing training to continuously strengthen your capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by helping reduce language barriers and facilitating effective communication.

Provide accurate, timely, and clear real-time interpretation between Nepali and English during calls, meetings, and other interactions. Accurately convey the meaning, tone, and context of spoken communication while avoiding omissions or unnecessary additions. Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive, personal, or confidential information. Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity when communicating with clients and service providers from diverse backgrounds. Remain neutral and professional while facilitating communication between participants. Stay informed about relevant terminology, expressions, and vocabulary to maintain high-quality interpretation. Follow established ethical standards, interpreter protocols, and professional best practices. Remain calm, attentive, and effective during challenging or emotionally sensitive conversations. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to maintain and improve language and interpretation skills. Adapt to different subjects, communication styles, accents, and conversational contexts while maintaining accuracy. Follow assigned schedules and maintain reliable availability, including rotational shifts when required. Requirements: Fluency in both Nepali and English, with excellent command of spoken and written language. Previous professional experience in interpretation, translation, customer service, communications, or a related field is preferred. Excellent listening and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail. Ability to interpret accurately and efficiently in real time. Strong cultural awareness and the ability to communicate respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional when handling challenging or sensitive conversations. Strong ethical standards and a demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and privacy. Ability to understand and retain terminology across different subjects and communication contexts. Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, service-oriented approach. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while following established procedures and quality standards. Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends when required. Reliable internet connectivity and a suitable home working environment are expected for the remote nature of the role. Benefits: Fully remote, work-from-home position in India. Full-time employment. 5 working days per week with 2 rotational days off. Salary of up to INR 5.38 LPA , subject to applicable experience and employment terms.
