ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a strategic operator to catalyze Base’s growth in new markets. This role will develop Base’s perspective on new domestic and international markets from first principles, get the team to a ‘yes’, and support a cross-functional team to stand up businesses in new geographies. This role will translate a deep expertise in distributed energy storage markets into actionable business cases and drive those opportunities to decision and action. You will not move on to the next idea when the team has aligned to move into a market, but be accountable for making it happen alongside Deployments, Growth, Software, Hardware, and Policy. WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Become Base’s internal expert on where we can build large, attractive businesses in de-regulated domestic and international markets.
• Develop and maintain the backlog of new market opportunities for our distributed battery business, educating the team on what geographies are ‘on deck’.
• Own the business case for taking Base to a new market.
• Project-manage a cross-functional team to initiate a new market by translating the business case into actionable workstreams that will be owned by Base’s Functions (e.g., Deployments).
• Set, track, and deliver against internal and external performance targets, including enrollment, installed capacity, and operational KPIs.. WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• 4+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, or startup environment.
• Structured problem solving and analytical capabilities that start from first principles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across utilities, regulators, internal teams, and vendors.
• High ownership and a demonstrated track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects and initiatives. This could be in a startup, product management, consulting, or other environment.
• Familiarity with power markets, utilities, and regulatory constructs is preferred.
• A low ego. ABOUT THE TEAM Our team is building and scaling Base’s new businesses. With a focus on finding and developing new regulated (utility partnerships), de-regulated (this role), and bi-lateral (e.g., large loads) growth opportunities, we seek new avenues for demand for Base’s distributed storage technology. The work directly advances Base’s mission by turning concepts into operational, grid-integrated storage deployments that deliver measurable impact. The challenges are high-stakes and detail-driven, requiring strong ownership across timelines, stakeholders, and technical dependencies. An exceptional candidate will be excited by the change to turn the complexity and uncertainty of today’s grid into opportunity.
