Job Summary Reporting up to the Maintenance Manager, this role will provide maintenance support for the Sunday to Thursday 9:30pm-5:30am schedule. Please note there is a $3.00 shift premium for all hours worked on this shift. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing Inspection, repair and troubleshooting of plant equipment and process instruments, general building and property maintenance. Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment. Trouble shooting of plants instrumentations and process equipment Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. Minor equipment fabrication. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Perform a basic knowledge on PLC’s troubleshooting Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Work with site-wide building maintenance to ensure compliance to any construction, renovation or updates. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, checks of all electrical alarms on the plant. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Work from ladders, scaffolds, Scissor Lifts, booms and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job. Skills Knowledge and Ability Requirements To be considered for this position, the successful candidate should possess the following: High school diploma, or equivalent. Minimum 2 years relevant work experience. Journeyman certification definite asset but not required; minimum year 3 apprentice. Experience using PLC’s is an asset. Experience of Mig and Stick welding. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with staff and management. Able to efficiently and effectively handle shifting and multiple priorities. Self-motivator as well as the ability to motivate and stimulate the activities of others. Problem analysis resolution. Able to create alternative solutions to problems Able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Basic computer familiarity. Able to work well under pressure in fast paced environment Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs Works in both hot and cold environments. Ensuring a safe working environment on projects at all time. Must be willing to attend after hour call out and weekends as required.
