The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of this NIH Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) program is to support educational activities that increase understanding of biomedical research among pre-college (pre-kindergarten to grade12) individuals, and to encourage awareness of and continued interest in careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Eligible applicants County governments; Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification); Small businesses; Public and State controlled institutions of higher education; Private institutions of higher education; Special district governments; For profit organizations other than small businesses; Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments); Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; State governments; Independent school districts; Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); City or township governments; Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
