NPI Engineer, Electronics

ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for an NPI Engineer to take Neko's electronics from a stable design into volume production. You'll sit between the design team in Stockholm and our contract manufacturer, and you'll own the work that makes a board buildable and testable at volume. That means the test fixtures the factory runs, the DFM and DFT changes that go back into the design while there's still time to act on them, and the yield and process work once a line is up. When a build throws a problem, you're the person who works out whether it's the design, the process or the test, and then closes it. We're at the point where the manufacturing decisions being made now will shape how the next few products get built, so there's a lot of ground to claim. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Take stable designs through transfer into production, and own the industrialization plan for each one
• Design ICT and functional test fixtures for volume production, and the requirements behind them
• Drive DFM and DFT improvements back into the electronics design
• Work directly with our contract manufacturer on build readiness, process and quality
• Work with the software team on the production test software and firmware that runs on your fixtures
• Own yield: track it, find the causes behind it, and close them out
• Keep production documentation, work instructions and test records in the shape a regulated product needs WHAT YOU BRING
• Experience taking electronic products from design into volume manufacturing
• Production test fixture design, ICT and functional, including writing the test requirements
• DFM and DFT, with examples of changes you got into a design early enough to matter
• Hands-on work with contract manufacturers, or with an internal production line
• Comfortable reading schematics and layouts, and debugging a board on the line
• Process and yield improvement, with data behind the decisions
• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Production or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Fluent English (C1 or above) BONUS POINTS
• Experience in medical devices or another regulated industry, including design transfer and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), as well as knowledge of ISO 13485
• Proficient in testing software and scripting using Python or LabVIEW
• Knowledge of SMT processes, including panelisation, AOI, and X-ray inspection
• Experience working with contract manufacturers outside Sweden and managing the associated travel
• Familiarity with statistical process control, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies WHY JOIN THIS TEAM This is the role that decides whether a good design becomes a good product. You'll own the transfer end to end, from the first DFM review through to a line running at yield, and you'll have the authority to send a change back into the design when that's the right fix. The design team is in Stockholm and small enough that you'll know every engineer whose board you're industrializing. The hierarchy is flat, so a process decision doesn't need three approvals to happen. Volumes are growing and the hardware is early, so you're setting up how manufacturing works here while there's still a choice about it.
