Registered Nurse (RN) – New River Valley Inpatient Pyramid Healthcare | Radford, VA Bring Your Nursing Expertise to a Different Kind of Inpatient Care Are you an RN looking for an opportunity to use your clinical skills in a setting where you can make a meaningful impact on individuals working toward recovery? At Pyramid Healthcare – New River Valley Inpatient , you'll provide nursing care to clients receiving treatment for substance use disorders and behavioral health concerns , while working alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, LPNs, and an interdisciplinary treatment team. This is an opportunity to use your assessment skills, clinical judgment, medication expertise, and compassion in a setting focused on recovery—without many of the physical demands associated with traditional inpatient nursing. 📍 Radford, VA – 6226 University Park Drive 🌙 Schedule: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM 💰 Pay: $33–$39/hour Why This RN Role Is Different If you're ready for a change from traditional hospital or bedside nursing, this position offers a unique clinical environment: No ADL assistance – clients are independent with bathing, feeding, grooming, and personal hygiene. No catheters No IVs, ports, or midlines No blood draws – laboratory services are provided by a contracted national lab. Minimal physical demands – no heavy lifting and limited prolonged standing or walking. Electronic MAR (eMAR) – no paper medication administration records. Focus on clinical assessment, medication management, withdrawal monitoring, education, and behavioral health nursing. Opportunity to provide clinical guidance and support to LPN team members. What You'll Do As an RN, you will: Provide direct nursing care and clinical services in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and organizational policies. Complete nursing assessments, reassessments, admissions, and ongoing clinical documentation. Administer medications and monitor effectiveness, side effects, and client response. Monitor and implement withdrawal management protocols , including CIWA, COWS, and other clinical assessment tools as applicable. Provide medication education, health education, and nursing support to clients and families. Coordinate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical providers during assessments, medication management, and treatment planning. Monitor client health status and communicate significant clinical findings, concerns, and changes in condition to the appropriate treatment team. Provide clinical guidance and support to LPNs regarding client care assignments and nursing activities as appropriate. Maintain medications, medical equipment, and clinical supplies according to regulatory and organizational requirements. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to promote continuity of care and positive treatment outcomes. Maintain confidentiality and complete all required training and documentation. What We're Looking For Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification Strong clinical assessment and communication skills Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented approach to patient care Interest or experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, addiction recovery, or withdrawal management is a plus.
