Overview

The OECD accepts internship applications throughout the year from students enrolled in accredited degree programmes, with placements generally lasting one to six months and flexible in-person, hybrid or remote arrangements depending on team needs.

Complete internship details

OECD interns support policy or corporate teams through research, data collection and analysis, drafting, meetings, networking, events and other project work. Internships normally last one to six months and may be renewed up to a total of twelve months. Full-time internships are 40 hours per week; exceptional part-time arrangements of at least 20 hours may be possible. Most internships are based in Paris, though teams may offer in-person, hybrid or fully remote arrangements. Interns located in Paris receive a €1,000 contribution to living expenses for each full month worked and 2.5 working days of leave per full month.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must remain enrolled in a full-time accredited degree programme for the duration of the internship in a field relevant to OECD work, be available for at least one month, have excellent command of English or French plus working knowledge of or willingness to learn the other, and have good quantitative, IT, drafting and communication skills. Internships are primarily allocated to OECD member-country nationals; non-member nationals may be considered for specific programmes and projects, including OECD-affiliated bodies.

Tips for this internship

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Apply well ahead of your desired availability because OECD says selection can take up to three months; clearly state availability and tailor the cover letter to relevant directorates or policy fields.
  2. Tailor the CV and application to the responsibilities and required skills stated on the official employer page.
  3. Use concrete evidence of relevant work, projects and measurable results rather than generic claims.
  4. Confirm location, work authorization, remote restrictions and sponsorship terms before applying.
  5. Apply through the original employer or official recruitment destination shown on this page.

Verification notes

Verified on the current OECD internship page and its active SmartRecruiters application route. OECD states applications are accepted year-round, placements are 1–6 months renewable to 12 months, and Paris-based interns receive €1,000 per full month. No universal visa, travel or housing package is stated on the reviewed page and none was inferred.
