Overview
Our client is establishing a new engineering site in the Cádiz region and is seeking an experienced Office Lead / General Manager to lead and develop this location.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and managing an engineering site in the Cádiz region.
- Actively integrating the site and team into the wider group and, in particular, the engineering organization.
- Responsibility for business planning, business results, and reporting, including monthly and annual profit and loss statements, to achieve company goals.
- Building, disciplining, and developing the local team, including coordinated project and personnel planning. (You will be supported by a tech team lead with many years of experience in the company’s products, who will provide technical guidance and leadership to the team.)
- Development of local growth strategies in cooperation with the parent company.
- Establishment of a regional network for the acquisition of new customers, orders, and funding opportunities.
Requirements
- Skills to build an organization from scratch, manage its operations, and develop it.
- Motivation to apply these skills for our client’s organization in the Cádiz region.
- Degree in business or engineering with at least five years of management experience.
- Spanish nationality, or at least 10 years of residence in Spain
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- High level of commitment, leadership skills, reliability, and excellent communication skills.
- A nautical background is not a prerequisite, but would be an advantage.
- Professional experience in the Spanish shipyard or marine environment is not a prerequisite, but would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
