Operations Manager

Job Title – Operations Manager Location: Dubai, UAE

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day business operations across fashion, apparel, retail, and related activities. The role will be responsible for coordinating teams, managing suppliers and production partners, monitoring inventory, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and improving operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in fashion/apparel operations, supply chain, merchandising, inventory management, vendor coordination, and retail/e-commerce operations, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Operations Management

• Oversee daily operational activities across the business and ensure smooth workflow between departments.
• Develop and implement operational procedures, workflows, and performance standards.
• Monitor operational KPIs, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate closely with management to execute business plans and operational priorities.
• Ensure day-to-day activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and within agreed timelines.

Fashion & Production Coordination

• Coordinate with designers, production teams, manufacturers, suppliers, and external vendors.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure collections and products are delivered on time.
• Track sampling, approvals, production, quality checks, and final deliveries.
• Follow up on fabric, trims, packaging, accessories, and other production requirements.
• Resolve production delays, quality issues, and supply-related challenges.

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Coordinate sourcing and procurement of fabrics, garments, accessories, packaging, and operational materials.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, lead time, and reliability.
• Negotiate commercial terms and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and production partners.
• Monitor supplier performance and address recurring quality or delivery issues.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Oversee inventory planning, stock movement, replenishment, and control.
• Monitor raw materials, finished goods, samples, packaging, and other inventory.
• Coordinate regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Identify slow-moving, excess, damaged, or obsolete inventory.
• Improve inventory accuracy and minimize stock shortages and wastage.

Order Fulfillment & Logistics

• Coordinate order processing, packing, dispatch, delivery, and returns.
• Work with logistics partners to ensure timely domestic and international deliveries.
• Monitor shipment schedules and resolve delivery issues.
• Ensure accurate documentation for shipments and customer orders.
• Coordinate with sales and customer-service teams regarding order status and delivery commitments.

Retail & E-Commerce Operations

• Support smooth operations across physical retail and/or e-commerce channels.
• Monitor product availability, pricing, promotions, and inventory across sales channels.
• Coordinate with sales and merchandising teams to ensure products are available according to demand.
• Monitor customer orders, returns, exchanges, and fulfillment issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

Financial & Cost Control

• Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs.
• Track procurement, production, logistics, and inventory-related costs.
• Support budgeting and operational forecasting.
• Review supplier quotations and negotiate cost-effective solutions.
• Monitor margins and operational performance in coordination with the finance team.

Team Management

• Supervise and coordinate operations, logistics, warehouse, procurement, and support teams as applicable.
• Define responsibilities, targets, and performance expectations.
• Conduct regular team reviews and address operational performance gaps.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Support recruitment and training of operational staff when required.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Establish and monitor quality standards for products and operational processes.
• Coordinate quality inspections throughout production and before final delivery.
• Investigate product defects, customer complaints, and supplier quality issues.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure operations comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable UAE regulations.

Reporting & Process Improvement

• Prepare regular operational reports covering inventory, procurement, production, logistics, sales fulfillment, and KPIs.
• Analyze operational data and provide actionable recommendations to management.
• Develop dashboards and tracking systems for key operational metrics.
• Identify process bottlenecks and implement automation or workflow improvements.
• Continuously improve efficiency, service quality, and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Fashion Management, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in operations management, preferably within fashion, apparel, retail, luxury, e-commerce, or consumer goods.
• Strong experience managing suppliers, production, inventory, logistics, and order fulfillment.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
• Experience working with ERP, inventory-management, POS, or e-commerce systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting.
