Full Job Description

Jordan Rosser, Intensive Care Paramedic and current MBA student.

Intensive Care Paramedic and Duty Operations Manager with NSW Ambulance, Jordan Rosser, has been awarded the 2022 Future Leaders MBA scholarship. The scholarship funds the study of a part-time Master of Business Administration at the University of Sydney Business School, worth over $60,000.

Jordan has experienced more than most at an early stage in his career. At just 26 years of age, he has achieved excellence in providing pre-hospital care, with extensive specialist training in trauma. He has also invested effort in developing his leadership capacity, now working in a managerial role that gives him oversight over staff, financial resources and emergency incident response.

“I’m grateful to have my potential as a future leader formally recognised by members of an industry that exist outside of my own,” said Jordan. “This recognition will afford me greater credibility as a young leader in my organisation and an opportunity to assure myself that my aspirations of becoming a contemporary leader with NSW Ambulance are both tangible and attainable.”

Upon completing his Bachelor of Paramedic Practice in 2015, Jordan furthered his training to become an Intensive Care Paramedic and a Grievance Contact Officer with NSW Ambulance. With a key focus on staff welfare, Jordan was awarded NSW Ambulance Employee of the Year in 2019 in recognition of his successfully implanting a state-wide solution to capturing paramedic exposure to psychological injury.

“This information was and still is, used to activate support services for paramedics that assist in preventing PTSD and depression amongst our staff”, Jordan said.

"I chose to apply for the University of Sydney’s MBA program due to its commitment to securing a small and diverse cohort of students, its reputation for promoting experiential learning, and the exposure to highly skilled and experienced content experts,” said Jordan.

Jordan will commence studies of his part-time MBA in Semester 1, 2022. The Future Leaders MBA Scholarship is awarded on a yearly basis to an exceptional applicant who successfully completes a statement of motivation, a discussion forum with accompanying reflective essay, and a final interview.

Tips for this scholarship

Practical JobOpportunity guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
