This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Patient Access Representative based in United States. This part-time remote role supports patients and families during the critical registration and access process. You will help create a smooth, accurate, and welcoming experience for patients accessing emergency and outpatient services. The position combines patient-facing communication, registration, insurance verification, financial information collection, and payment processing. You will work with multiple healthcare information systems while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. The role also offers opportunities to cross-train across patient access functions and become a trusted resource for colleagues. Training will take place on-site for the first several weeks before transitioning to the remote work arrangement. Applicants must reside in Northeast Ohio and be available for the specified rotating part-time schedule.

Perform patient registration and complete accurate interviews to collect demographic, insurance, medical, and financial information. Pre-register patients for Emergency Department and outpatient services. Greet and support patients and families while creating a professional, welcoming access experience. Verify patient information and insurance details accurately and efficiently. Collect copayments for applicable diagnostic services. Provide registration and cash collection support using Epic. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure information is entered correctly across relevant systems. Cross-train across patient access functions, including front desk operations, admitting, Emergency Department registration, and cash register responsibilities. Support consistent patient access processes across assigned areas. Serve as a Super User and provide system knowledge and support to colleagues. Assist with training and onboarding new caregivers in patient access processes. Respond professionally to patient questions and requests while maintaining a patient-first approach. Communicate and exchange information accurately with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues. Follow established procedures for patient information, financial transactions, and healthcare access. Maintain appropriate use of personal protective equipment and follow standard precautions as required. Protect the accuracy and confidentiality of patient, medical, insurance, and financial information. Adapt to multiple data systems and workflows while maintaining attention to detail. Participate in required training and comply with applicable workplace and healthcare safety requirements. Requirements: High school diploma or GED plus two years of experience in a customer-facing role involving in-person or telephone contact. Alternatively, an Associate’s Degree plus one year of relevant customer-facing experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree. Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders, or willingness to complete an appropriate medical terminology course within one year. Basic knowledge of PC software applications. Ability to work effectively with multiple computer and data systems. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to exchange accurate information. Excellent attention to detail when collecting and entering patient, insurance, medical, and financial information. Strong customer service skills and a patient-focused approach. Ability to remain professional, empathetic, and composed when interacting with patients and families. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while following established procedures. Ability to learn healthcare registration, access, and payment workflows. Ability to work effectively with colleagues across different patient access functions. Ability to remain stationary and perform computer-based or administrative work for extended periods. Ability to operate computers and other standard office equipment. Ability to work with physical records when required. Ability to travel throughout the applicable healthcare system when required by the role or training. Ability to move up to 25 lbs. where required by the work location. Ability to comply with standard precautions and use required personal protective equipment. Applicants must reside in Northeast Ohio. Availability to work the required rotating part-time schedule, including weekends. Willingness to complete initial on-site training for the first several weeks.
