About the Role
Block LLP is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Lien Negotiator to join our growing team.
In this role, you will focus on negotiating reductions of medical liens and outstanding medical balances associated with our clients' personal injury cases. You will communicate directly with medical providers, lienholders, and other applicable parties to secure reductions and help maximize our clients' net recovery.

This position may be remote, hybrid, or in-office depending on the candidate's location and preference. Candidates must reside in California and live close enough to our Burbank office to attend in-person training during their first week of employment.

What You'll Do
- Review medical liens, bills, and outstanding balances associated with personal injury cases
- Negotiate reductions directly with medical providers, lienholders, and other applicable parties
- Advocate for favorable reductions with the goal of maximizing the client's net recovery
- Submit lien reduction requests and supporting documentation
- Communicate with providers and lienholders by phone and email throughout the reduction process
- Obtain and confirm final reduced balances and payoff amounts
- Identify discrepancies in balances, billing, or lien information and work to resolve them
- Follow up consistently on pending reduction requests and outstanding balances
- Maintain detailed documentation of negotiations, communications, offers, reductions, and final amounts
- Track the status of lien reductions and keep internal teams updated on progress
- Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and other team members to obtain information needed to complete lien reductions
- Maintain accurate and organized records within the firm's case management system
- Manage a high volume of lien files while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
- Escalate complex or disputed lien issues to the appropriate team member when necessary
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience handling lien reductions or medical bill negotiations within personal injury
- Hands-on experience negotiating directly with medical providers and lienholders
- Understanding of medical liens and outstanding balances commonly encountered in personal injury cases
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Persistent and comfortable advocating for additional reductions when appropriate
- Excellent follow-up skills and ability to independently move files toward resolution
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage a high volume of files and negotiations simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger legal team
- Proficiency with computers, email, Microsoft Office, and case management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a plaintiff-side personal injury law firm
- Experience handling a high volume of lien reductions
- Familiarity with different types of medical liens and reimbursement claims encountered in personal injury cases
- Experience with personal injury case management software
- Spanish speaking is a plus
Work Location & Training Requirements
- Candidates must currently reside in California
- This position may be remote, hybrid, or in-office at our Burbank location
- Regardless of long-term work arrangement, the selected candidate must be available for in-person training at our Burbank office during their first week of employment
- Candidates must live within a reasonable distance of Burbank to accommodate initial training and occasional in-person business needs
