This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Pessoa Desenvolvedora Ruby on Rails - Sênior based in Brazil. As a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer, you will work within an engineering team building and sustaining scalable, resilient digital products. The role focuses on Ruby on Rails while offering opportunities to work across TypeScript, mobile technologies, and other parts of the technology ecosystem. You will participate throughout the development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to automated testing, deployment, and production monitoring. The position combines work on a core monolithic platform with microservices and integrations involving partners, ERPs, payment gateways, and external platforms. Quality and technical ownership are central to the role, with developers responsible for testing, monitoring, performance, and production support. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering professionals in multidisciplinary agile squads using Scrum or Kanban. This is a fully remote opportunity offering significant autonomy on a temporary 2-to-3-month project, with the possibility of continuing beyond the initial engagement.

Develop and maintain scalable, resilient RESTful APIs using Ruby on Rails. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and production monitoring. Contribute to the evolution of the core monolithic platform while also supporting microservices and integrations with external partners. Develop and maintain integrations with ERPs, payment gateways, and other external platforms. Ensure technical quality through code reviews, Clean Code, SOLID principles, and established engineering standards. Monitor and optimize application performance using APM tools, resource tuning, query analysis, and other performance-improvement techniques. Work within multidisciplinary agile squads, collaborating closely with engineering and product teams. Navigate different technology contexts when needed, including TypeScript and mobile development, while maintaining a broad understanding of the product ecosystem. Take ownership of quality throughout the development process, including testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support. Contribute proactively to technical decisions and continuous improvements across the engineering environment. Requirements Proven senior-level experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails. Working knowledge of TypeScript and willingness to work across other technologies when required. Strong knowledge of REST APIs, including API design, documentation, integration, and consumption. Solid experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling. Professional experience with Git and GitHub. Strong familiarity with automated testing, including RSpec and unit, integration, and black-box testing approaches. Professional experience working with cloud environments, particularly AWS. Strong ownership mindset, with autonomy, proactivity, accountability, and a focus on delivering business value. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of NoSQL databases and caching or messaging technologies such as Redis, DocumentDB, and DynamoDB. Experience with CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub Actions and Argo CD. Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical decision-making skills. Experience with microservices architecture and messaging technologies such as AWS SNS/SQS is a plus.
