Description
Your Mission
As part of our R&D team, you will be the technical backbone of our polymer processing team, transforming our novel, sustainable polymers into high-performance compounds ready for scale-up.
- Compounding & Formulation: Develop and optimize polymer formulations, focusing on additives, masterbatches and compounding strategies tailored to our new materials.
- Equipment Operation: Hands-on setup, operation, and troubleshooting of polymer processing equipment, including lab kneaders, single/twin-screw extruders, injection moulding machines and film blowing lines.
- Application Development: Drive material development across key application fields (e.g. injection moulding, film processing, fibre spinning or monofilaments for 3D printing). You don't need to be a deep expert in all of these fields, but you will help define key processing parameters and guidelines for target applications.
- Data-Driven R&D: Analyze and interpret mechanical, thermal and rheological properties (MFI, capillary rheometry, DSC, TAN/acid value, tensile testing) to derive robust structure-property relationships.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Education: Degree (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science or a related field. Alternatively, completed vocational training as a Plastics Technologist or Technician with extensive relevant industry experience.
- Experience: Proven senior-level of professional experience in an industrial laboratory, pilot plant, or production environment.
- Technical Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience in polymer processing (compounding, extrusion, injection moulding) and formulating masterbatches/additives.
- Analytical Mindset: Confident handling of thermal and rheological analysis methods.
- Working Style: Precise, well-organized, and reliable even in the dynamic environment of a growing startup. You bring a strong hands-on mentality and structure your work efficiently.
- Language: Comfortable communicating in English in day-to-day operations. Technical competence matters more to us than perfect grammar.
