Ghent University's Department of Biology is recruiting a full-time postdoctoral assistant for marine-ecology research on climate-driven stress responses at the base of the food web, alongside teaching and student supervision.
Full job description
At least 70% of the appointment is devoted to academic research using experimental approaches and trophic markers to study climate-driven stress responses in marine food webs. Duties also include teaching in Experimental Marine Ecology and supervision of master's and doctoral students. The role is a 100% temporary AAP appointment for three years, with a possible second term of up to three years after favourable evaluation, and can start from 1 January 2027. Remuneration follows Ghent University's AAP5 salary scale.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants must hold a relevant doctoral degree by the start of appointment. The vacancy particularly welcomes backgrounds in biology, marine sciences, biochemistry and biotechnology, bioscience engineering or another field accepted by the selection committee, with relevant marine-ecology research experience. Non-EU degrees require the specified NARIC equivalence documentation.
