About the Role As a Prep Cook at Flow, you will have experience working with organic ingredients, fresh seasonal produce, and in farm-to-table kitchens focused on locally sourced menus. Your role is vital in in bringing our hospitality vision to life through thoughtfully prepared ingredients and a deep respect for the culinary process. With an eye for detail and a passion for quality, you will support our kitchen team in creating meals that nourish not just the body, but also a sense of connection and community. Whether it’s prepping for a busy brunch or helping to execute a sustainably sourced dinner service, you will drive your commitment to design, sustainability, and care in every dish.
Follow the prep list provided by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager, completing all tasks in order and with care
Label and stock ingredients clearly and in organized fashion
Wash, chop, and sort fresh, seasonal produce and foods
Clean and sanitize reusable cookware, prep tools, and work surfaces in alignment with eco-conscious kitchen practices
Compost food scraps, sort recyclables, and responsibly dispose of waste to minimize environmental impact
Maintain a clean, organized space while adhering to all health, safety, and food handling guidelines
Monitor ingredient inventory and collaborate with the team to restock local, sustainable goods as needed
Experience working with organic ingredients, fresh seasonal produce, and in farm-to-table kitchens focused on locally sourced menus
Experience prepping meals by thoughtfully combining fresh, seasonal ingredients
Ability to keep the cooking station and the kitchen clean, organized, and aligned with health and safety standards
A strong sense of curiosity and willingness — take notes, ask questions, and communicate clearly to keep learning and growing
Ability to stay organized and self-driven without constant direction
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, especially during busy seasons
Comfortable with the physical demands of the job — lifting up to 50 lbs and staying on your feet for long shifts
Remain calm and focused under pressure — we value grace and grit, especially during peak hours
