Overview
Malta-based research and innovation entities can join eligible PRIMA consortia at the 2026 Section 2 full-proposal stage, with up to EUR 500,000 available for the Maltese participation in a project.
Complete grant details
The national funder states that the 2026 PRIMA Section 2 call has progressed to full proposal and that Malta-based entities may still join existing consortia through the widening opportunity. The Malta allocation is capped at EUR 500,000 per project across all Maltese participants. Topics cover non-perennial watercourses and water allocation, remote and non-invasive ICT monitoring of agricultural disease and pests, and digital traceability in Mediterranean food value chains. The PRIMA coordinator submits the full proposal through the PRIMA Electronic Submission System, while Malta participants must also submit the required national documentation to Xjenza Malta.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be Malta-based entities with an operating base in Malta under the applicable national participation rules and must participate in a consortium with eligible partners from PRIMA Participating States.
Tips for this grant
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified on Xjenza Malta's current call page and the PRIMA submission page. Xjenza Malta states full-proposal submission by 29 September 2026 and national documentation by 23:59 CET that day; PRIMA lists the Stage 2 deadline as 29 September 2026 at 17:00 CET. Because the official sources use CET during a daylight-saving period and expose two process deadlines, deadline_date is stored without inventing a UTC conversion.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
