This is a role where you will play a pivotal part in growing our culture of continuous improvement and be our regulatory subject matter expert. In this role you'll provide support to the Regional Manager Vehicle Compliance, team members and the wider Vehicle Regulation team in to drive effectiveness through the delivery of quality work and evidence-based decision making. Your responsibilities will include: Managing day to day delivery of the work programme to ensure that key performance targets are metCoaching and mentoring and leading team members in the areas of risk identification and assessment, audits and investigations, good regulatory decision making and application of interventions, critical thinking and continuous improvementProactively engaging with Inspecting Organisations and Vehicle Inspectors, stakeholders and service providers on matters of compliance and non-complianceEmploying effective regulatory tools to ensure Regulated parties are achieving the highest level of safety and complianceYou will find out more about the role here We are seeking to appoint at a salary between $111,051 to $123,390 per annum commensurate to skills and experience. Ko koe t&#275nei | About you If you are outcomes focused with a can-do attitude and able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge about the vehicle inspection and how NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) regulates then we would love to hear from you. To be successful in this role you will have: Extensive experience in a regulatory or compliance environment are a senior or Grade 5 Mechanic as you will be our expert in mechanical engineeringHave experience as a vehicle inspectorProven ability to lead complex investigations or auditsExperience in reporting on workflow and outcomes, and able to clearly communicate workflow progress and outcomesStrong analytical and critical thinking skills along with systems thinkingExperience in mentoring and coaching othersAbility to build strong stakeholder relationships and build credibilityYou will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao M&#257ori and promote tikanga and Te Reo M&#257ori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public service.'Qualifications: Relevant experience in a regulatory compliance roleKo wai m&#257tou | About us The Vehicle Regulation team is responsible for regulating Inspecting Organisations and Vehicle Inspectors from Key Service Delivery Providers (KSDPs) to small workshops. We do this by monitoring our sector through audits, reviews and investigations and working with industry to drive best practice. The team regulates Inspecting Organisations and Vehicle Inspectors that have been authorised to conduct vehicle inspections.
