Principal Resource Geologist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Resource Geologist based in Canada. This is a senior technical and project leadership opportunity within a global resource geology environment. You will apply your expertise in mineral resource and geological modelling to complex mining and resource development projects. The role combines hands-on technical work with project management, client engagement, and business development. You will contribute to geological models, block models, resource estimates, technical reporting, and due diligence activities. Your work will support major project decisions, including financing, mergers and acquisitions, and sustainable resource development. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction. Develop geological models, interpretations, and supporting geological assessments for a range of resource projects. Construct block models to support mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates. Contribute to the preparation of NI 43-101 reports and equivalent international technical reporting. Perform due diligence reviews in support of project financing, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic project activities. Lead project delivery activities, including managing other geologists and third-party consulting groups. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological findings and interpretations with scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines. Ensure projects are delivered successfully in line with health and safety requirements, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC standards, and client expectations. Prepare proposals and contribute to service-line, business-sector, and client business development plans. Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring high-quality service delivery. Mentor junior geologists and participate in internal and external training and mentorship initiatives. Requirements Minimum 10 years of experience in a comparable geological role within the mining or environmental services industry. Significant expertise with Seequent’s Leapfrog Geo and Edge geological modelling software. Experience with an additional mining software package such as Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac, or Micromine is considered an asset. Strong experience in 3D geological modelling, geological data analysis, and drill planning. Solid understanding of geostatistical fundamentals used in mineral resource estimation. Undergraduate degree in geosciences or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred. Registered professional designation such as P.Geo. or an equivalent professional license. Strong technical report-writing, scope development, and proposal preparation capabilities. Demonstrated ability to manage projects successfully while balancing technical quality, commercial considerations, schedules, and client requirements. Strong communication, relationship-building, leadership, and mentoring skills. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities. Benefits Salary range of $160,000–$200,000+, with final compensation based on education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location. Full-time, permanent position.
