Full job description
Probation Officers build professional relationships with people managed in the community, assess information, support behaviour change and coordinate community-based sentences and orders. The department highlights communication, resilience, critical thinking, planning and teamwork as important capabilities. Positions are available across Auckland service centres including the North Shore, central and west Auckland and Ōtāhuhu.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants need strong written and verbal communication, the ability to work effectively with people from varied cultures and backgrounds, a full New Zealand driver licence, and an unrestricted legal right to work in New Zealand for at least 24 months. Experience in Kaupapa Māori or Pasifika environments, or a willingness to learn, is specifically valued.
