Full Job Description

Product Design Internship (Summer 2027)

Workshop is looking for a curious, ambitious Product Design Intern to help shape the future of internal communications—and explore how AI can make work more creative, intuitive, and human.

You’ll work alongside our Product team to turn real customer needs into thoughtful experiences, use AI to explore ideas and build prototypes, and learn when AI adds value—and when a simpler solution works best.

This is a hybrid role based in our Omaha, Nebraska office.

As a Product Design Intern, you will:

  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product managers to craft user-centered features and experiences.

  • Participate across the design process, from research and wireframing to prototyping and high-fidelity design.

  • Explore how AI can help internal communications teams create better content, reach employees, and understand what’s working.

  • Experiment with AI tools to explore design directions, build interactive prototypes, and test ideas faster.

  • Help make AI-powered experiences understandable and useful, giving people clear feedback and control.

  • Contribute to design critiques, iterate on feedback, and help ship polished solutions with mentorship from experienced designers.

To be successful in this position, you’ll bring:

  • An optimistic, ambitious mindset and a drive to learn.

  • Curiosity about AI and how it can support both the design process and the people using our product. You don’t need to be an AI expert.

  • Thoughtful design judgment: a willingness to question an output, check assumptions, and ground decisions in user needs.

  • Attention to detail and care for clear, accessible experiences with an extremely high bar for craft.

  • A collaborative spirit, openness to feedback, and enthusiasm for trying new approaches.

About Workshop
