About Sarvam

Full job description

About Sarvam Sarvam is building the bedrock of Sovereign AI for India. The company is developing India’s full-stack sovereign AI platform, building across research, models, infrastructure and applications with a singular focus on making AI genuinely work for India. Sarvam works with leading enterprises and public institutions and is backed by Lightspeed, Peak XV, and Khosla Ventures. Sarvam partners with India’s leading brands, including Tata Capital, SBI Life, CRED, IDFC, and LIC. About the Role We're building India's sovereign AI platform across API, Agents, Creator Studio, and consumer products. Acquisition is getting easier. Activation is where most of our users are dropping. We need a PM who owns the full top-of-funnel: how people find us, how they sign up, how they get to their first meaningful moment, and how we make sure they come back the next day. This role sits at the intersection of growth, product analytics, and lifecycle. You'll work closely with marketing, platform, and product teams to turn installs and signups into activated, engaged users who stick. What You’ll Do

  • Signup, login, and onboarding. Own the charter of everything from the first touchpoint to an activated user, on app and off app. Design the onboarding flows. Cut steps. Pick the right activation moment per product and ship toward it.
  • Activation funnels. Define what activation means for each product and instrument it end to end. Find the drop-offs. Run experiments at every step. Move the curve.
  • Marketing channels and attribution. Own the channel mix from a product standpoint. Work with marketing on paid, organic, referral, and partnerships. Build the attribution setup so we know what's actually working. Hold a clear view on CAC and channel quality.
  • Quality of acquired users. Not all signups are equal. Define what a good user looks like, segment by source, and feed that back into acquisition. Kill channels that bring junk. Double down on the ones that bring repeat users.
  • Virality and social loops. Build referral mechanics, social sharing, and in-product virality where it fits. Find the wedge that turns one user into three.
  • Lifecycle and re-engagement. Ship in-product nudges and off-product touchpoints (email, WhatsApp, push) that get new users to the second session, the third session, the habit. What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years in product management with at least 2-3 years owning growth, activation, or top-of-funnel at a startup or consumer/developer product
  • You've moved an activation metric and can talk about it specifically: the baseline, what you shipped, what worked, what didn't
  • Deep working knowledge of activation, engagement, and retention funnels. You understand each step, each cohort, and where the cliffs are
  • Hands-on with marketing channels and attribution. You've worked with paid, organic, referral, and lifecycle, and you know how to measure each
  • You live in product analytics. Mixpanel, PostHog, Amplitude, whatever the stack is. You pull SQL when you need to. You don't wait for the data team
  • You have an intuitive sense for what makes a product activate faster. Friction, time-to-value, the right first action. You see it without being told
  • Numbers at your fingertips. CAC, activation rate, D1/D7/D30 retention, channel ROI, cohort curves. These live in your head
  • Clear thinker on user quality. You don't celebrate signup numbers. You celebrate activated users who come back Bonus Points
  • Built referral programs or viral loops that materially moved acquisition
  • Worked on developer products, AI products, or India-first consumer products
  • Background in mobile growth, including store optimization and install-to-activation funnels Why this role?
  • Real ownership. You own growth across the company. The signup page, the activation flow, the channel strategy, the referral program. Yours to shape.
  • Move metrics at scale. Sarvam's products touch the entire Indian developer and consumer market. An onboarding change you ship on Monday shows up in activation dashboards by Friday. Few companies offer this kind of leverage this early.
  • The best product team you'll work with. Sharp operators from the best product orgs in India. People who ship weekly, argue hard, and ship harder. You'll be pushed and you'll grow fast.
  • AI at the frontier. You'll sit next to researchers building India's foundation models. Access to the latest cutting-edge models, internal research, and a team that genuinely understands how this technology works. Not a wrapper company.
  • Independence to bet big. If you have a thesis on a new acquisition channel, a virality mechanic, or an activation rebuild, bring it. We give PMs room to run their own experiments and own the outcomes, good or bad.
  • The standard startup perks. Competitive cash, meaningful equity, top-tier health insurance, great Bangalore office, a team that actually eats lunch together. Why Sarvam? Sarvam is a fast-moving, high talent-density team building full-stack AI for India, working on problems that push the frontiers of AI with real population-scale impact.
  • Work alongside researchers, engineers, builders, and business leaders who move fast and hold each other to a very high bar
  • High ownership and high impact, from day one
  • Everything we do is AI-first, from the way we build and ship to the way we think about problems
  • You can work on problems that could change how an entire country learns, works, and communicates If you want to work on problems at the frontier of AI in India, Sarvam is the place to be.
